Again, the sense of space and light
strikes you as you walk into this room. On
one side, facing west, three large mullion windows overlook a magnificent beech
tree, tennis courts and playing fields. On the other east-facing side, another two windows look onto lush plant tubs of thriving conifers,
hebes and herbs screening the railway platform beyond.
This is an impressive high ceiling room with paneled wainscoting on
all sides, carpeted throughout, with a raised platform at one end. Halogen
ceiling lights, additional spotlight tracking directed onto the platform area,
and eight traditional 'school room' globes ensure that energy levels are
maintained - even on the wettest of Lancashire days. On one long
wall there is an extensive magnetic whiteboard. Arrangements for the
display of flipchart paper can be made. And the Station
itself, from former days, is captured in a series of old framed photographs,
blown up and displayed on the walls.
Notable for its versatility, this room is provided with over 25
quality swivel chairs on casters - we expect our Learners to move!
Comfort is a high value, and these green themed chairs were commissioned literally
with 'bums on seats' in mind. With adjustable silicon arm
rests, backs and seat height, each seat is fully contoured and upholstered to
ensure comfort throughout the day. For more formal
activities, we have a range of robust portable tables which can be arranged in a
variety of permutations.
The fire exit leads directly onto our enclosed platform area, where we
have benches placed between the planted tubs.
